Dr. Colleen Grunhaus is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Department at 黑料不打烊 and a subject matter expert in Marriage and Family Counseling. Dr. Grunhaus teaches Marriage and Family Counseling and Ethics and Legal Issues in Counseling to graduate counseling students and serves on several dissertation committees as a subject matter expert or methodologist, specializing in quantitative analyses. As a Counselor Educator, Dr. Grunhaus is a member of the American Counseling Association, Association of Counselor Education and Supervision, and the Association of Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling, and regularly presents at local, regional, national, and international conferences.
Dr. Grunhaus earned a Master鈥檚 degree in Counseling from Regent University and began her counseling career after graduating in 2011. Dr. Grunhaus is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, where she engages in private practice, specializing in relational counseling. Dr. Grunhaus is a board-certified counselor and has experience providing clinical mental health counseling with children, adolescents, adults and families in settings such as intensive in-home counseling, residential counseling, school-based counseling, outpatient, and private practice. Dr. Grunhaus holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from William and Mary, where she served as a clinical director of a family therapy clinic.
Dr. Grunhaus has published book chapters and articles in refereed journals on topics such as gatekeeping and remediation, burnout and secondary traumatic stress, creative approaches in counselor education, and workplace aggression in the counseling profession. Dr. Grunhaus also has a research interest in strategies to prevent violence against women and has presented at professional conferences on issues such as stalking, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault.
