Ryan Hanley teaches in the areas of biblical studies, theology, and practical ministry, seeking to help students understand the Christian faith and make it their own. He sees teaching as a joyful stewardship, working to meet every student where they are, but striving to help each student take ownership of their learning and push themselves further than they imagined they could go. His favorite classes to teach are Interpreting the Bible, where students learn the valuable skill of faithful reading and study of Scripture, and Focusing on the Old Testament, where students discover that the Old Testament is a necessary and wonderful part of their growth as followers of Jesus.

Ryan and his wife Kathleen have five children and have served together for the last two decades in college and young couples ministry. Ryan currently serves as an elder at Immanuel Baptist Church in Williamsburg. The Hanley family loves to travel, especially to national and state parks, as well as all the beautiful places to see and hike in southeastern Kentucky. The best day is capped off with homemade smashburgers or smoked meat.

Ryan is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Institute for Biblical Research, and he also serves as an editor for The Cornerstone Journal of Pastoral Theology and Ministry.
