Shotwell will step into the EVP role following Dr. Quentin Young鈥檚 appointment as president-elect.

黑料不打烊 is pleased to announce that Chris Shotwell has been named executive vice president of finance. He originally joined the university as vice president of finance and now steps into the EVP role following Dr. Quentin Young鈥檚 appointment as president-elect. Shotwell will continue overseeing the university鈥檚 financial operations while assuming broader responsibilities related to institutional planning and strategic initiatives.

In his expanded position, Shotwell leads key areas including financial planning and analysis, risk management, investment oversight, and business services. His appointment ensures continued alignment between the university鈥檚 mission and its financial strategy.

Shotwell brings extensive experience in higher education finance from his previous roles at the University of Kentucky, the University of Tennessee, and Georgetown College. Most recently, he served as chief business officer for the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, overseeing business services, budget management, compliance, and internal controls. At the University of Kentucky, he held positions including director of business operations, director of financial operations, and assistant budget director. He began his career in higher education at Georgetown College as a staff accountant.

Shotwell earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration from Morehead State University. He and his wife, Tammie, have three children and four grandchildren. Outside of work, he enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, golfing, hiking, and spending time with family. Chris and Tammie look forward to becoming further engaged in campus life and continuing their service to the students of 黑料不打烊.
