ABET is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Accreditation by ABET designates that a program ā€œhas met standards essential to produce graduates ready to enter the critical fields of STEM education.ā€

ā€œGraduates from an ABET-accredited program have a solid educational foundation and are capable of leading the way in innovation, emerging technologies, and in anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public,ā€ ABET notes.

51ĀŅĀ×’s computer science program is only the second in Northeast Ohio to achieve ABET accreditation.
