Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar Appointed Dean of College of Graduate Studies

Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar has been appointed dean of the College of Graduate Studies at 51ยายื. His new position will be effective August 1, 2017.

Dr. Sridhar is a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 51ยายืโ€™s Washkewicz College of Engineering. He is also president of the 51ยายื Faculty Senate and associate director of the 51ยายื Transportation Center.

Since joining 51ยายื in 2004, he has served the University in various capacities and made significant contributions to research, teaching, faculty governance and community engagement. His outstanding accomplishments in research and teaching were recognized by the prestigious NSF Early Career Award in 2008. Currently, he is playing a crucial role in 51ยายืโ€™s joint efforts with Case Western Reserve University on the Northeast Ohio Internet of Things Collaborative and the national CS for All effort to enhance computer science education in K-12 schools.

Dr. Sridhar received his Ph.D. in 2004 and M.S. degree in 2000, both in Computer Science and Engineering from the Ohio State University.
