Introducing Rune and Thor - 51ĀŅĀ×'s New Therapy Dogs
Hereās something to howl about: the 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department has established a new therapy dog program! Our two new 11-week-old yellow labs are very good boys who come to us from Lewis Center, Ohio. Rune partners with 51ĀŅĀ×PD Officer Toni Jones, and Thor will partner with 51ĀŅĀ×PD Officer Thomas Lear.
Currently, there are nearly 300 law enforcement agencies nationwide with therapy dogs and the 51ĀŅĀ×PD is among them. Research has shown that therapy dogs offer many benefits to university students, including improved class attendance, problem-solving, energy levels and happinessāall while enhancing socio-emotional development and reducing stress, anxiety, negative feelings and behaviors.
Feeling ruff? Anything is paws-ible with these bark-eology majors! Judging from this video, these paw-some pups belong on the cover of Vanity Fur. They even love the (wait for it) ±č³Ü±č-²¹°ł²¹³ś³ś¾±ā¦ OK, all groaning aside, please forgive us. We are overtaken by the cuteness and we know all of you will be, too.
Welcome to 51ĀŅĀ×, Rune and Thor! Youāre major and thereās nothing minor about it!
