National Girls & Women in Sports Day with 51ĀŅĀ× Vikings Women’s B-ball

Cleveland State Athletics will host a event preceding 51ĀŅĀ× Viking Women’s Basketball hosting Horizon League rivals the Milwaukee Panthers at the 51ĀŅĀ× Wolstein Center on Thursday, February 24 at 6 p.m. Tipoff for the game is at 7 p.m.

National Girls & Women in Sports Day is powered by the Women’s Sports Foundation celebrates and inspires girls and women to play, be active and to realize their full power and potential.

. NGWSD and the Women’s Sports Foundation advocate to protect Title IX and advance gender equity. 51ĀŅĀ× Athletics is exploring NGWSD beyond sport itself and looking at whole health, wellness and advocacy for girls and women through multiple platforms.

51ĀŅĀ× Athletics invites campus departments, groups and community organizations to join in an interactive, educational micro-convention with informative tables relating the collective impact of sport, health and wellbeing on the region’s girls and women. The event takes place on the arena concourse from 6 - 7:15 p.m., leading up to tipoff of Vikes v. Panthers on the Wolstein hardwood.

Vendors wishing to participate and have a table at this event will receive FREE ADMISSION to the game. Tabling will take place from 6 - 7:30 p.m., and the vendor must supply their own tablecloth. To register, please email your organization name, point of contact/email/phone, brief description of organization’s bond to sport/wellness/women’s advocacy, and a description of educational/interactive activities planned to l.masterpaul@csuohio.edu.
