Ohio State Highway Patrol and Dept. of Public Safety Donate Portable Radios to 51ĀŅĀ× Police
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ohio Department of Public Safety have donated 50 portable radios to the 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department. The department received the radios today during a presentation at the 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department.
The 50 radios which had previously been used by troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were transferred to the department rather than sending them to state salvage. Clear, effective and reliable communications is critical to a law enforcement agencyās ability to respond to incidents and emergency situations. The radios were provided to assist the department in upgrading their communications capabilities.
āWe know inter-agency cooperation and partnerships are critical to improving the services provided by Ohio law enforcement,ā said Colonel Paul Pride, Patrol Superintendent. āThe Patrol supports local law enforcement and is pleased to have the opportunity to assist the 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department by providing these radios.ā
āThe men and women of the 51ĀŅĀ× Police Department value the rich partnership shared with the Ohio State Highway Patrol,ā said Chief Gary Lewis. āWe appreciate the portable radios, which will be used to enhance inter-agency communications.ā
