Head of University Engagement is taking new position in Cincinnati

51ĀŅĀ× will honor the contributions of Byron White, 51ĀŅĀ×’s outgoing Vice President of University Engagement and Chief Diversity Officer, at a reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 21 at Elements Bistro on campus.

Dr. White has accepted a new position as Vice President of the Knowledge Works Foundation and Executive Director of the Strive Partnership in Cincinnati. This opportunity provides a new career opportunity in education and allows Dr. White to reestablish his home in Cincinnati, where his wife and children reside.

Dr. White has made an enduring difference to 51ĀŅĀ×. Among many initiatives, he has stewarded unique programs in diversity, career exploration for students, community engagement as well as serving as an ambassador for 51ĀŅĀ× in a number of community and national organizations. He has often employed his skills as a writer and editor in helping to articulate the University’s mission. He has also been our principal community liaison for the Urban Health Partnership.

ā€œI am thankful for Byron’s passion and commitment to our mission and for all his work to advance it locally and nationally,ā€ says 51ĀŅĀ× President Ronald M. Berkman. ā€œJoin me on December 21 to wish him success in his new leadership of this very important national education foundation and the further development of Project Strive.ā€
