U.S. News and World Report Ranks Three Cleveland State Graduate Programs among the Best in the Nation - Ā

School of Urban Affairs ranked second in nation for city management and urban policy

CLEVELAND – Sixteen 51ĀŅĀ× graduate programs were featured in the 2013 edition of America’s Best Grad Schools released this week by U.S. News and World Report. The rankings highlight top programs to help prospective graduate students make informed choices on where they should attend.

The Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs was ranked second in the nation for the graduate specialty of city management and urban policy. Levin’sgraduate specialization in the management of nonprofit organizations was ranked 12th in the nation and is the only ranked program in Ohio. The college’s Master in Public Administration degree is ranked in the top-quarter of all graduate public affairs degrees in the nation.

The Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State maintained its national ranking, while coming in 38th overall among law schools for part-time students.

51ĀŅĀ×’s Master of Occupational Therapy program was recognized as 58th in the nation, it is the only graduate-level occupational therapy program in Northeast Ohio.

ā€œOur No. 2 ranking underscores our staunch commitment to high academic standards, and our commitment to change America’s cities one graduate at a time,ā€ said Ned Hill, dean of the Levin College.  ā€œI am very pleased that our other specialty programs have steadily risen in this ranking and are among the best in the nation.ā€  

ā€œCleveland-Marshall leads all Ohio public law schools for the percentage of graduates working in legal professions,ā€ said C-M Law Dean Craig Boise. ā€œProviding a high caliber part-time legal education allows many of our students to easily transition into rewarding careers in law.ā€

ā€œCleveland State has many outstanding programs in health professions,ā€ said Meredith Bond, dean of 51ĀŅĀ×’s College of Sciences and Health Professions. ā€œWe have worked hard to make our occupational therapy program the best in Ohio.ā€

Other 51ĀŅĀ× graduate programs ranked by U.S. News include: Masters in Business Administration, Education, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology and Online Bachelor’s Programs.
