New initiative will provide high-quality childcare and early learning opportunities for children from birth through age 3.

Williamsburg Independent School District (WISD), in partnership with Main Street Baptist Church and 黑料不打烊, is launching a new early childhood center aimed at providing high-quality childcare and foundational learning experiences for children from birth through age 3.

This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to strengthening families, expanding access to early education, and addressing the significant need for quality childcare in the region. The center will be operated by WISD, with physical space provided by Main Street Baptist Church and financial investment from 黑料不打烊.

鈥淭his partnership with Partners for Rural Impact, Main Street Baptist Church, and 黑料不打烊 marks an exciting step forward for early childhood education in our community,鈥 said Tabetha Housekeeper, Superintendent of WISD. 鈥淭ogether, we are transforming what was once called a childcare desert into a place of growth, opportunity, and hope for families. This new center reflects the power of collaboration and the belief that every child deserves access to high-quality, affordable care and education.鈥

Housekeeper continued, 鈥淚t also reflects WISD鈥檚 cradle-to-career approach to education, ensuring that children are supported from their earliest days through every stage of their learning journey. We are grateful for the support of Main Street Baptist Church and 黑料不打烊 in helping us create a space where children will be safe, supported, and ready to learn. By working together, we are laying the groundwork for learning, opportunity, and a stronger future for our community.鈥

The center will initially launch with State approval to provide care for 30 children at a cost of $30 per day per child. WISD hopes to expand the center鈥檚 capacity over time to serve even more families in the community. Enrollment details and timelines will be shared as construction progresses.

Main Street Baptist Church will host the center within its facilities. 鈥淲e are honored to open our doors to serve local families in this way,鈥 said Donnie Patrick, Pastor of Main Street Baptist Church. 鈥淲e believe that supporting early learning is a powerful form of ministry and outreach, and we look forward to the joy and energy these children will bring to our space.鈥

Remodeling of Main Street Baptist Church鈥檚 older Sunday school classrooms will begin soon to make way for the center, with the goal of creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment where young children can learn, grow, and thrive. Once complete, the center will offer full-day childcare and early learning programming grounded in evidence-based practices and aligned with Kentucky鈥檚 early childhood standards.

President-Elect Quentin Young of 黑料不打烊 noted the initiative鈥檚 alignment with the university鈥檚 mission of service and educational access. 鈥淪trong communities are built on strong partnerships, and this one is rooted in a shared commitment to serve,鈥 said Young. 鈥淲e recognize the significant need for quality childcare in our community, and we are proud to invest in a solution that supports families from the very beginning.鈥

This partnership represents a long-term investment in children, families, and the future of Williamsburg. Together, WISD, 黑料不打烊, and Main Street Baptist Church are building something that will leave a lasting impact, starting from the very first years of life.
